Here we are three days away from Christmas. Are you feeling distracted, overwhelmed, down, blue, or frazzled? (If you by chance have that easy peaceful feeling — I’m jealous!)
I have to admit I’m feeling all of the above. It’s that time of the year where Jesus should so easily be at the forefront of our minds and yet I struggle to stay focused on the “reason for the season”.
I say all this to say “that’s life.” You probably have just as much “life” happening in your world. Keeping our lives free and calm instead of busy and frazzled does seem to get more difficult each passing year. Will I ever conquer the art of just saying “No”?
I have learned that when I do feel overwhelmed, down and frazzled, I have forgotten to keep the most important – the most important. Which simply means I haven’t been seeking Christ as I normally do. Yep — I’ve let the craziness of the season distract me. (I think I said I wasn’t going to do that again last year. Humph!)
I wrote a devotional Enjoy the Journey a few years ago. The next day a friend, Jonathan Ibarra, sent me lyrics to a song he had written as part of that devotional brought clarity to his thoughts. How did I so easily forget the very words I had written?
Jonathan’s written lyrics have been turned into a beautiful song sung by Jackie Cole. I’ve listened to this song over and over as I surely need this reminder.
I want to be a wise (wo)men and seek Him, even when all is NOT calm and bright. If you’re distracted this season, I pray this song will cause you to seek HIM.

It’s an amazing time of year to just Seek HIM!
